The Net Neutrality conflict is confusing for everyone, but affects every single one of us: freedom of speech. It is hard to tell what’s right or wrong and who to support but the decision has already been made for us.
The Federal Communications Commission (FCC) has ruled in favor of the Internet’s freedom, but that may cost us dearly. To be able to regulate the Internet Provider’s activities, the service had to be reclassified and now it is in the bag with mobile data and phone companies.
This gives the FCC the power to control taxation and we could be looking at a future where the Internet is not as cheap as today. But, how much, and who are we willing to pay to protect our biggest technological advancement?
